Here's the rundown on outdoor music series and festivals in Atlanta this summer.

Local Notes readers, summer will be gone before we know it. We want to make sure you have all Atlanta’s outdoor music series and festivals on your calendar.  After all, what goes better with warm summer air than music? Grab a blanket, pack a cooler and we’ll see you out there.

Vans Warped Tour

What: This punk rock and extreme sports festival has been running almost two decades now, featuring both well-known and up-and-coming acts in punk, alternative, emo, and rock. This year’s festival includes Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, New Found Glory, Anti Flag, The Used and a whole lot more.

When: July 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Aaron’s Amphitheater at Lakewood

What to Bring: Sunscreen, cash, water bottle for refilling at filtered water stations

Music at the Meadow

What: Check out rotating live music for the family on the meadow in Grant Park.

When: Every other Monday through August from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: Grant Park at the corner of Sydney and Cherokee Avenue

Cost: Free

What to Bring: Refreshments, blanket, lawn chairs

Jubilee Jazz

What: Local jazz acts will play live on Tower Stage at the Vinings Jubilee shopping center.

When: June 21 and June 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: Jubilee on Paces Ferry Road

Cost: Free

What to Know: We recommend seeing this event from one of the Jubilee restaurant patios.

Wednesday WindDown

What: This Centennial Park series features jazz and contemporary music by national touring acts.  Artists including Melvin Miller, Ronnie Garrett Band, Shayla, Marcus Johnson and Daniel Moore will play this summer.

When: Every Wednesday through September from 5:30 p.m.- to 8 p.m.

Where: Centennial Park’s Southern Company Amphitheater

Cost: Free

What to Bring: Refreshments and blankets

Twilight Concerts at Emory

What: The Emory Summer Concert Band will perform light wind band classics, classical transcriptions, marches, folk songs and musical theater.

When: July 7 and July 17 at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Jenkins Courtyard on the Emory campus

Cost: Free

What to Bring: Refreshments and blankets

And as always, don’t forget about Friday Night Live in Atlantic Station every week from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Central Park. There’s a great and varied list of bands for this ongoing summer series. Be sure to check out Local Notes each week for a profile on that Friday’s artist.
