CeeLo Teams Up With the Muppets

Atlanta musician and television host CeeLo Green is set to star in a Christmas special this holiday season with who other than the Muppets. They are after all the perfect pair, performing together during last year’s Grammy Awards.

The holiday special is called CeeLo’s Magic Moment, the same name of Green’s Christmas album set to drop tomorrow. Other appearances include Rod Stewart and Eric Benet. The show airs Nov. 30 on the TV Guide channel.

Benefit Concert Aids Veterans

Gary Sinise, the actor who played Lieutenant Dan in the movie “Forrest Gump,” started The Gary Sinise Foundation after the 9/11 terrorist attack in order to provide help to veterans, first responders and their families.

In Sinise’s latest project, he’s teamed up with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to help retrofit the houses of two Georgia veterans who recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan and suffered debilitating injuries. Both need homes that accommodate wheelchairs and make it easier to use their new prosthetics.

Sinise’s band, the Lt. Dan Band, which performs covers of everything from Jimi Hendrix to Kelly Clarkson, will play a benefit concert in order to raise money for the home renovations Nov. 3 at Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre starting at 7 p.m. Get tickets here.

Check It! Pick of the Week

Nashville indie rock band The Features has been sharing its Krautrock-indie-psychedelic fusion for over a decade now, becoming popular with a performance at Bonnaroo, a track on the “Twilight” soundtrack and a song featured in a car commercial.

The Features will be with He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister on Thursday at 9 p.m. at Terminal West. Get tickets here.
