Young and Driven: Wire Method
Wire Method is set to play Friday Night Live this week at Atlantic Station. The music kicks off at 7 p.m.
With a good majority of the band being barely out of high school, Wire Method defies expectations for such a young group.
The band was launched by Lauren and Brooklynn Scott, sisters with both love and talent for music who decided to form a band three years ago, though they’ve been playing together their whole lives. They’ve teamed up with a number of different musicians under the name Wire Method, but the band’s current lineup includes Cameron Moore and Seth Banks, both 18, and Jared Cox, 23. Lauren, 18, and Brooklyn, 20, have also brought in their sister Morgan, 13, to round out the vocal aspects of their music. Wire Method is set to play a gig this week at Friday Night Live at Atlantic Station, a free event in Central Park starting at 7 p.m.
Some might expect a band with such young talent to be rough around the edges musically, but Wire Method proves them wrong, playing mature and developed music. The indie-pop band’s songs, mostly written by Brooklynn, feature beautiful harmonies and a orchestral, lush sound.

Wire Method has created a ton of original music, and now the group is looking to record an EP. But as Lauren explains, the band needs funds to produce its vision for a high-quality album. It has created a Kickstarter account to help support the production.
The band features female vocalists, talented male musicians and sister artists, and Lauren believes that dynamic sets Wire Method apart. She says that the members have become best friends, and they really just love to play music.

“The best part of being in Wire Method is definitely getting to do my favorite thing with my favorite people,” she said. “I adore all these folk, and I adore playing the music that we’ve written. I love every second of writing with them, practicing with them and playing shows with them.”
As for fame and fortune, Lauren wouldn’t mind if that came along with the fun.
“For the future, I hope that we continue to adore playing music and that more people get to hear our music,” she said, “From there, if the Grammys want to give us an award, I guess that’d be okay.”
