Young Artists Bring Original Music to Central Park
The Back to School Bash at Atlantic Station this Saturday will feature live music from a number of awesome local young artists. Local Notes gives you the scoop on these up-and-coming acts.
We at Local Notes remember our days as kids, dreaming of rock star superstardom as we jammed out with a hairbrush microphone and an air guitar. Alas, we just didn’t have what it took, but these young artists from across the Atlanta area are out there making it happen. They’ve practiced their instruments and pieced together bands with plenty of talent.
Now they’re ready to take the stage at Atlantic Station, during it’s tomorrow. Live music takes place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Central Park. Local Notes gives you the scoop on these up-and-coming acts.

This fifteen-year-old singer-songwriter from Canton is quickly making waves on the country scene. Ambitious from the start, she has taught herself piano, guitar and mandolin, and started writing songs at age 10. She’s making a name for herself in local competitions and has even gotten some playtime on 94.9 The Bull in Atlanta. Tomorrow she’ll play from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., backed by her band: guitarist Val Hoyt, bassist Joey Williams and drummer Tommy Paschal.
Red Letter

Red Letter is a heavy-hitting alt-rock band with influences like Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, MGMT and Velvet Revolver—and they’re all only 15 and 16. Singer Livvie Brookshire, guitarist Britt Spurka and guitarist Daniel Bowman met through a program at a local music store and later branched out, adding Ryan Calatayud on drums and Lakin Crawford on bass to round out their sound. Red Letter’s performance, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., will include covers from the rock greats plus a couple of original songs.
The Endless Energy is made up of busy teenagers that take their craft very seriously, writing their own music, picking up multiple instruments and playing in venues like Eddie’s Attic. Singer Rachel, guitarist Jacob, bassist Sam and drummer Timo will bring their rock music to Central Park from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Aspen is a thirteen-year-old who claims, “Music is my life.” Known for writing songs as a preschooler, she picked up the guitar at age nine, inspired by Taylor Swift. She writes country-inspired music “straight from the heart,” and has played at the Variety Playhouse and been featured on 94.9 The Bull. She’ll be playing from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wire Method
Local Notes has already to Wire Method, made up of sisters Lauren, Brooklyn and Morgan Scott and their friends Cameron Moore, Seth Banks and Jared Cox. Brooklyn writes most of Wire Method’s music, indie-pop songs featuring multi-part harmonies and an orchestral sound. Wire Method will play from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
