Why Go? Gaze on giant illuminated lantern designs of landmarks from countries all over the world. You and your family will be able to travel and celebrate the rich cultures of the world all in one place. "The theme of Global Winter Wonderland is ‘Travel around the world in one day,'" said Beth Carter, Director of PR for Global Winter Wonderland. "You can enjoy the riches of the world from international cuisine, world famous landmarks and shopping all in one place."

Insider Tip: You get access to unlimited carnival rides, Christmas holiday village, dinosaur land, lanterns, shopping, dining and live entertainment.

Must Do: Highlights include recreations of some of the world’s greatest architectural achievements, including the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, Chichen Itza, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Fine Print: Open seven days a week from 5-11 p.m. The cost of admission for adults age 13-64 is $24.99, kids age 5-12 cost $16.99 and seniors $18.99. Also, you may want to ask about season passes. The attraction is open until Jan. 5.

The Santaland Diaries

Why Go? Written by David Sedaris, The Santaland Diaries is the hilarious story of an out-of-work writer who has to take a job as a Macy's Department Store elf.

“The show is celebrating its 15th anniversary and each year we try to include some modern pop culture references,” Public Relations Manager for Horizon Theater Company Kelundra Smith said. “There are people who come every year with family and friends. It’s very interactive and fun for adults.”

Insider Tip: It's no Christmas Carol. This production is an adult-only holiday comedy.  

Must Do: This play is a must-see for office managers looking for a fun diversion for the entire staff. VIP experience upgrades receive special reserved seating and complementary beverages.

The Fine Print: The play will run until Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. on Sundays, at 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and at 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets range in price from $25-$40.

Holiday Model Train Show

Why Go? Take a journey around the holiday model train garden. G-scale choo-choo trains and a holiday trolley chug along six tracks and emerge from tunnels, cross bridges over rippling water and soar across trestles.

Insider Tip: Keep an eye out for whimsical surprises such as the Grinch, reindeer playing reindeer games, North Pole City, Santa’s workshop, a logging village, an ice house village, and a farm town.

Must Do: Visit the garden during regular day time hours or at night for Garden Lights and take in violas, parsley and Dusty miller, and conifers like Cryptomeria, Juniperus, Pinus and ground covers Acorus, Asaru, Geranium and Sedum.

The Fine Print: This show runs through Jan. 4. The cost of admission is $18.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids ages 3-12 and free for kids under three and garden members.
