Esther the Smush, once abandoned and left for euthanizing in a South Carolina animal shelter, is now receiving great praise and popularity due to her adorably smushy and unique face (photos attached). Esther was found at Abby’s Animal Angels shelter in Greenville, SC, where she was adopted by an Atlanta resident. After her new owner’s friends demanded a constant stream of photos of Esther, a Facebook page was created for her, and has received over 650 Likes within just 48 hours. Already being deemed “the next Grumpy Cat,” Esther’s internet fame continues to sky rocket.
Esther is an exotic shorthair cat, and has a genetic mutation that contributes to her unique features. This condition does not hinder her day-to-day life, but does make her unable to ever have surgery or breath normally. This mutation was discovered after her face and tongue turned blue while receiving anesthesia for neutering. Please follow her journey at www.facebook.com/EsthertheSmush, www.instagram.com/EstertheSmush, or www.twitter.com/EsthertheSmush!
