Midtown Parking

I have been living in the neighborhood for over two years now, and I really love it most everything ablut it.  One thing that is seriously making me think of moving is the parking situation.  I have no assigned parking space, and therefore must park on the street.  I have received four tickets so far for either parking less than 20ft from a stop sign or 20ft. from a cross walk. I try to avoid the end of the streets but unless I want to walk a few blocks away, and walk in the dark to my place, a street corners is my only choice.  I don't carry a mesuring tape and there is no yellow lines on the curve to guide your parking errors.  I have taken images and fought every ticket but the City has not gotten back to me.  Is it not fair to demand yellow curves painted by the City if they give out tickets?
