Music Midtown Needs to Move Out of Piedmont Park

There is no doubt that midtown Music is a wonderful event to have in Atlanta. But this past weekend's event combined with rain on Saturday, turned the fields where the bands played into mud pits.  On fields, where game park rules prohibit game play if the grass is merely wet; we had thousands of festival goers grinding the once pristine 2 inch thick turf into a pulp.  Furthermore, this being fall, the grass will go dormant soon so don't look for new green shoots popping up to cover over the problem. It will take 6-9 months and thousands of dollars to restore the fields and make them useable again.  That's too high a price to pay.  Midtown Music needs to move to the open lots, parking areas, or open spaces still found throughout the midtown area.
