11Alive's Elle Duncan Arrested for DUI on Piedmont Road

Elle Duncan became the latest local TV personality to be arrested for DUI in Atlanta.

Just days after Fox News' longtime news anchor, Amanda Davis resigned after the embarrassment of being charged with a DUI, now another local TV personality has been issued an infamous mugshot for a similar DUI charge.

Elle Duncan, the current traffic reporter for NBC's 11Alive News, was pulled over around 1:30am on Sunday because of her erratic driving. According to a police report from the Georgia State Patrol officer that pulled her over, "the arresting officer S. Collins observed a silver Mercedes driving at a "high rate of speed" southbound on Piedmont Road."

(The officer) asked Duncan to take field sobriety tests and she consented.  He placed her under arrest for DUI and reckless driving and requested a breathalyzer test.  She took the test. The results read a .099, above the legal limit of 0.08.

11Alive.com was one of the first to report the news, and it quickly spread among the various entertainment blogs in Atlanta that have covered Duncan since her times on V-103.  Elle Duncan released a statement to 11Alive, expressing her regret.

"I am greatly embarrassed for my actions early Sunday morning. I have been reminded -- in a very difficult way - that any amount of alcohol can impair us. I take full responsibility for my actions. I apologize to my fans, our community, and my 11Alive family."

Some blogs, such as Straight From the A are reporting that Duncan was seen at Buckhead Bottle Bar partying after Saturday's Hawks game.

About Elle Duncan
According to Access Atlanta, "Duncan started her broadcast career with the 2 Live Stews on 790/The Zone in 2003 at age 20 and moved to Ryan Cameron's afternoon show on V-103 a year later." They say, "She led the mid-day show at V-103 for 18 months starting in 2009, then worked with Frank & Wanda for 10 months before going back to Cameron's show for eight more months."

Duncan left V103 at the end of 2011, and joined the NBC affiliate WXIA-TV as a morning traffic reporter. Duncan recently taped a public service announcement for 11Alive advising viewers about the risks of drinking and driving.
