'24 Hours of Giving' from Woody’s CheeseSteaks to benefit Atlanta's first responders

Midtown restaurant's inaugural Thanksgiving fundraiser will provide all first responders from the Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department, EMT/EMS, and HERO, a free meal from a special holiday menu.

Midtown's Woody’s CheeseSteaks is giving back to the city’s unrecognized heroes during its inaugural Thanksgiving fundraiser, '24 Hours of Giving.'

Beginning at midnight on Thanksgiving morning, November 22, and carrying on until 11:59 p.m. Thanksgiving night, all first responders from the Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department, EMT/EMS, and HERO, are invited to enjoy a special holiday menu for free, which of course includes Woody’s Famous CheeseSteaks.

Additionally, Woody's, located at 981 Monroe Drive, will be open to the public and will be donating all proceeds from the 24 Hours of Giving to the Atlanta Fire and the Atlanta Police Foundations.

"While we always offer first responders 50 percent off their checks as a way of saying thanks, I've always wanted to do something a little bigger for the men and women I consider to be my heroes. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to honor them and say thank you with measurable action," said Woody's CheeseSteak owner, Steven Renner, in a news release.

"We often take for granted that while we are enjoying time with friends and family on Thanksgiving, watching football and plotting our attack for Black Friday, these men and women are out keeping us safe and are ready to jump in and save the day if we have to dial 911," Renner added. "I have nothing but respect for our first responders who risk it all to make today a better, safer place than it was yesterday. With 24 Hours of Giving, it's just our small way to give back, support our community, and and let our first responders know we truly mean it when we say, 'thank you'."
