Woman robbed at gunpoint near West Midtown Design District

Alleged incident occurred Thursday afternoon. Atlanta Police are also seeking a suspect in connection with a pair of recent burglaries at the Yoforia near Piedmont Park.

According to notes from the Atlanta Police Department’s 911 Call for Service, a woman was a victim of an armed robbery Thursday afternoon in West Midtown.

According to incident data, APD received a call concerning an alleged pedestrian robbery at approximately 2:45 p.m. at 1040 Huff Road between Marietta Boulevard and Howell Mill Road. Alexan MetroWest Apartments is listed for that address.

On scene, APD notes reveal the victim advised that a man with a gun in hand approached her in a parking garage and robbed her of a wallet and cell phone.

Meanwhile, Atlanta Police investigators continue to work on identifying a male suspect involved in a pair of burglaries of Yoforia Premium Frozen Yogurt located near Piedmont Park at 985 Monroe Drive.

According to the police, the restaurant was burglarized around 11 p.m. on March 1, 2012, and then again just before 7 a.m. on March 9, 2012.

Both times, the suspect forced entry to the back door of the business and removed money from the cash register. Approximately $440 was taken in the combined crimes. Both incidents were captured on store surveillance video. 

The suspect, who is described as a black male, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 in height, with a tin moustache and goatee, is also suspected of committing several other recent burglaries in the same area.
