APD Video Shows Vehicle that Hit Cyclist in Assault

Video shows cyclist pedaling down a Morningside neighborhood street with the Dodge Nitro suspected of hitting the biker following.

Atlanta police on Friday released a nine-second video of the red Dodge Nitro suspected of hitting an Atlanta cyclist earlier this week in the Morningside neighborhood.

The surveillance video depicts the vehicle traveling down Flagler Avenue in one direction, and then later a cyclist pedals down the street in the opposite direction with the Dodge Nitro following.

Investigators say following a verbal confrontation, the driver of the vehicle pursued and hit Gregory T. Germani before fleeing early Monday evening in what police are calling an aggravated assault.
