APD Warning After Robberies Near Tech

Method is the same in two of the robberies.

Atlanta Police have issued a warning to the general public following three armed robberies near the Georgia Tech campus.

The first occurred Friday, WSB-TV reported.

In two of the hold-ups, the victims were approached by two men — one asking to use their mobile phones and the other subsequently committing the robbery, the news station reported.

They were not hurt.

The suspects were last seen running toward 10th and State streets.

Anyone with any information is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404.577.8477. You also may send a text to Crime Stoppers Atlanta: CRIMES (274637).

Report is somewhat useless with no description of perpetrators. Men? That narrows it down to about 3.5 billion suspects. Age, height, weight, race, hair color, clothing, car, tag....???

Doesn't GA Tech have thei own police force? They need to step up patrols in the area.

Michele, GA Tech Police have stepped up patrols however the robberies are occurring in the Home Park neighborhood next to Tech. That's the APDs responsibility. Not sure Tech Police patrol there. I lived in Home Park in the 90s while going to Tech and there were never this many problems with robberies as there has been in the last couple of years. Very sad.
