ARRESTED: Hit and Run Driver Who Injured a Woman Outside The Cheetah Club

An arrest was made in the brutal Hit and Run from last night.

Saturday morning Midtown Patch learned that the Atlanta Police Department made an arrest late Friday of the person suspected of critically injuring a young woman just before 7 p.m. on Friday, near The Cheetah Club.

According to Officer John Chafee, "on 11-15-2013 around 6:30pm officers responded to a call at 887 Spring St regarding a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival officers found a 29 year old female who had been struck by a vehicle. She was transported to Grady Hospital in critical but stable condition."

Investigators were able to track down a silver Land Rover that was spotted leaving the scene of the incident and arrest Robert Fitsgerald and charge him with a Hit and Run w/ Injuries along with other charges. 

The woman who was seriously injured as she walked on the sidewalk along Spring Street, has been identified as 29 year-old Shaquita McCou.
