ARRESTED: Surveillance Footage Leads to the Arrest of this 9th Street Criminal

Midtown Patch has just learned from the 9th Street home invasion victims that the teenager suspected of holding them at gunpoint and stealing their car has been arrested and is now in jail.

The original incident occurred on Monday, October 7th in the early evening as a 9th street homeowner was taking the trash to the curb.  According to the homeowner, who has been in contact with investigators, the 17 year-old suspect's name is Nyquarious Edwards and is supposedly in a gang and goes by the name NaNa on Twitter.

The homeowners in the this case say that they received information pointing to the fact that this is the suspects fourth Armed Robbery arrest, though a few of the other charges may have been dropped for some reason or another.

"Absolutely, this one will stick!" said our 9th street neighbor.  "I am going to do everything in my power to keep him off the streets."

After briefly talking with the victim of this incident, I learned that the suspect may have been identified by his T-shirt which was seen on the surveillance footage from his home.

Days after the robbery a group of teens ventured down to 9th Street and said that they recognized the perpetrator and claimed that he actually shot one of their friends days or weeks before.  They worked with police to identify Edwards as the criminal and see that he was arrested and taken off the streets.

Officer John Chafee said, "today the suspect was located in Stone Mountain by the US Marshals and taken into custody."

Midtown Patch received confirmation from the Atlanta Police Department that the 17 year-old is being charged with the following:

2- counts of armed robbery
2- counts possession of firearm during certain felonies
2- counts of aggravated assault
1-Theft by taking for the vehicle
1-Kidnapping
