Bone Lick BBQ Licks Wounds after Friday Morning Smash and Grab

Thieves smash window and steal cash register at popular westside restaurant that is back open for business and giving away a free lunch today.

All has been good for the westside’s Bone Lick BBQ since its mid-August opening. That is until the early morning hours Friday when burglars smashed a large glass pane with a rock to break into owner/chef Mike LaSage’s 2,700-square foot restaurant located at 1133 Huff Road at Apex West Midtown.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, the thieves stole a cash register and an ATM was also damaged inside the eatery. The cash register was later found on the eastside of at Atlanta at the Maynard Terrace exit ramp off Interstate 20.

A spin off of P'cheen International Bistro Pub's "Mike's Monday Night Bone Lick BBQ" weekly series, Bone Lick BBQ has enjoyed rave reviews from customers and critics alike who continue to flock to its fun, kitschy dining environment for the delicious pork, ribs and more.

And as JEZEBEL Magazine touts in its most recent edition, the macon-bacon cotton candy is pretty darn tasty, too.

Despite the recent theft, Bone Lick has quickly licked its wounds and is open for lunch today, and in fact will provide a meal free of cost to the 100th customer Friday. And see here how you can score a free entrée at its Sunday brunch.
