Copper, Aluminum Lifted from A/C Unit at Midtown Tire

Store manager says he's frustrated over recent crimes.

A Midtown manager is feeling frustrated after the copper and aluminum was stolen from an air conditioning unit at his shop Friday night. 

Seth Jones, store manager for , said he came into work Saturday morning and found parts of the unit missing from the property. 

"They took their time with it," Jones said Tuesday.

"This comes after a series of car break-ins on our lot over the last few weeks," Jones said. He mentioned the store has camera system, which often catches the incidents. 

"This is also very frustrating as the A/C unit was less than a year old and will likely cost around $5,000 to replace. We will have to move the new unit to the roof to keep this from happening again."

He said police filed a report and lifted some fingerprints from the remaining parts of the unit. 

"I am sure there are other neighbors in the area that are having similar problems and frustrations," Jones said.
