Fire at Centennial Place Apartments Damages Clubhouse

The Atlanta Fire Department was able to contain a predawn fire at the Centennial Place Apartments located at 526 Centennial Olympic Park Dr., near Pine Street, Thursday morning.

Firefighters say that the fire took place in the clubhouse which holds the work out room, lockers, and the reception office. According to reporting by the AJC, "the fire was contained to the ceiling area between the first and second floors."

Atlanta fire Battalion Chief David Rhodes told the AJC, "crews responding to an alarm bell just before 5 a.m. noticed light smoke and water flowing from the Merritts Avenue building." The AJC reports that there was no one in the building and no injuries reported.
