Former Ga Tech Employee Sentenced For Sex Crimes

Sami Deen, 43, was given 20 years in prison and 10 years on probation. He was charged with five counts of child molestation and 25 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

A Decatur man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation and sexual exploitation of children.

Sami Ud Deen, 43, was sentenced Jan. 23 in DeKalb County Superior Court, according to The Champion Newspaper. The prison sentence will be followed by 10 years of probation.

He previously worked as a computer technician at Georgia Tech.

Deen was arrested in November 2011. It started when authorities detrmined   an 8-year-old girl who'd been taken to Children's Healthcare/Egleston in Atlanta had been molested by a family acquaintance, Decatur police said.

The Champion Newspaper said Deen bonded out of jail twice but broke the conditions of his bond both times. The second time authorities found child pornography on his computer and he was ordered held without bond, the newspaper said.
