Latest Ansley Park Neighborhood Security Update

The following is a portion of the latest Ansley Park Civic Association's security alert, written by Jane Price Harmon, Security Chair.  There were 2 incidents to report.  You can become a member of their association by visiting www.ansleypark.org

1) There was an attempted robbery of a phone on The Prado at Barksdale around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27.  A young man who is a resident of Ansley Park was the victim. The perpetrators were 2 black males, and when the resident would not surrender the phone, they beat him up very badly.
An hour later the same two thieves stole a phone from a woman at West Peachtree and 8th Street.  Around 10 p.m. officers in Zone 2 found 4 black males breaking into cars and caught 2 of them.  When they searched their car, they found a cache of phones.
Sergeant Poole is working with the detective in charge of that crime to see if these are the same people who attempted the robbery in Ansley Park.
Sergeant Poole advises us to surrender whatever the thief wants if we are ever caught in that situation.  Our lives are worth more than what the thief is asking for.

2) Be on the lookout for a thin, black woman about 50 years old and approximately 5 ft tall.  She was caught rifling through a resident's mail.  She was carrying a shopping bag filled with circulars, possibly from other residents' mailboxes.
