Longtime Atlanta news anchor charged with DUI after wrong way crash in Midtown
Fox 5 Emmy Award-winning journalist allegedly was driving her vehicle north in the southbound lanes of Piedmont Avenue early Sunday morning
FOX 5 News anchor Amanda Davis faces multiple charges including DUI following a wrong way, head-on crash early Sunday morning on Piedmont Avenue in Midtown.
According to an Atlanta police report, Davis allegedly was driving her vehicle north in the southbound lanes of Piedmont before hitting another car just before 12:30 a.m. The accident occurred near the intersection of Piedmont and 14th Street.
Neither driver was injured in the accident that resulted in significant damage to both cars. According to Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee, Davis admitted to consuming alcohol but refused to submit to the "Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and refused to submit to the State Administered Chemical Test/s."

In a addition to DUI, Davis was charged with failure to maintain lane and reckless driving. FOX 5 reported the incident on its website late Sunday and management issued a statement saying it was "currently investigating" the incident.
The Emmy Award-winning Davis has been at FOX 5 since 1986 and co-anchors for the station’s news at 6 p.m and 10 p.m.
