Man, Struck and Killed on Downtown Connector

SWEET AUBURN DISTRICT — A man walking across several southbound lanes of the Downtown Connector was killed by a motorist who struck him Tuesday

The man, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was struck at about 12:24 p.m. near the Edgewood Ave. exit, Franka Young, a spokeswoman with the Georgia State Patrol, said.

A Hyundai struck the man, who ended up in another lane and the path of an oncoming Lincoln Town Car.
