Midtown Hookup Results in Stabbing

Meeting at Bulldogs leads to altercation and one man being taken to the hospital.

A meeting between two men at a longtime Midtown gay bar resulted in one of them being stabbed early Monday morning.

According to the Atlanta police, the man who did the stabbing said the other man had tried to steal his cell phone.

Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones told Patch that the two men met at Bulldogs, located at 893 Peachtree Street and left together “to become better acquainted with one another.” At approximately 1:40 a.m., the two men drove south and were looking to purchase some marijuana near the Savannah Suites Extended Stay Hotel located at 140 Pine Street.

At some point a discourse ensued and one man later told police he stabbed the other after he tried to steal his phone. It is unknown where the man, who had no identification, was stabbed, as he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition on Monday.

At this time, it is unknown if any charges will be filed.
