News Nearby: Smash and Grab at a West Midtown Hair Shop

The I Heart Hair shop on Marietta Boulevard was hit overnight by possible burglary suspects.

The I Heart Hair shop located within the shopping center at 1331 Marietta Blvd., had its front window and door rammed in by a vehicle on Tuesday morning, according to Officer Kim Jones with the Atlanta Police Department.

APD officials told Midtown Patch that at, "approximately 5:05am Ofc. Cadeau, responded to an audible alarm call at 13311 Marietta Blvd: I HEART HAIR."

According to the responding officer's statement, "I saw that the front lobby of the store had been disrupted. A glass table set and chairs appears to be damaged during the force entry. I also saw the soft shelves behind the front counter were in disarray."

I Heart Hair sells expensive hair weaves and extensions, which has become a popular item to steal among criminals.  According to the shop's website, "I Heart Hair specializes in exotic human virgin hair," and provides their, "customers with the highest quality Brazilian and Malaysian virgin hair."

The owners of the store were called in to see if anything was missing.  One of the owners stated that, "a box of old hair had been taken from the rear of the store, and also some hair products were taken from the front of the store." A complete inventory needs to be done in order to give an exact count of the stolen items.

Officer Cadeau, the responding officer, wrote in his report that, "it appears that a large vehicle (truck) was used to make force entry into the store. I observed scattered pieces of a rear taillight lens and bumper from a large vehicle on the ground. I observed a trail of glass leaving out of the parking lot then it appears to be leading southbound on Marietta Blvd."

As of early this Tuesday morning, police officers were looking through various surveillance cameras in the area to learn more about the suspects.  If there are images released to the public, we will post to Midtown Patch.
