(VIDEO) Group of Thieves Smash Car into Northside Drive Chevron and Steal ATM

Another smash & Grab, but was there any money stolen?

The Atlanta Police say that suspects used a van to drive through the glass door of the Chevron gas station located at 556 Northside Drive and take the ATM from inside, boldly during business hours.

Officer Jones reported to Patch that, "units were advised that a Gray Ford Econoline Van backed into the door of the business twice, three males then exited the van and entered the store. Upon entering the store the males lifted the ATM and placed the ATM into the van."

Investigators say there were 2 vans used.  One a Ford Econoline was used to bust open the store and clear a path for the suspects to get to the ATM.  The additional van observed at the scene was used as a lookout.  According to the police department spokesperson, both vans were found abandoned near I-20 and Hamilton E. Holmes exit.

Witnesses advised APD officers that at least one of the males had a handgun.

APD says the ATM was also found inside one of the vans.

No injuries and no arrests have been reported from this incident.  Upon checking to see where the vans were registered it was discovered that the vans registered to Molly World Academy located at 2143 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Investigators believe it was stolen from the location.

APD is asking the public to see if they recognize any of the men seen in the video.  Maybe you know the clothing and or the physical limp one of the men has. You can report info anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS(8477).

You probably recall that there have been at least two other recent ATM theft cases.  One audacious one was an ATM theft from the East Point DMV, and another in which a car was left in the mall at West End.
