October 2013 Ansley Park Security Alert

In this month's Ansley Park Civic Association newsletter, residents were given a reminder of how to try to keep their homes safe during the ramp up to the holiday shopping season.

"Our officers are seeing boxes that once contained very expensive electronic equipment on the curb for the city to pick up. The Bad Guys are also seeing these boxes and know the very expensive electronic equipment is in your home. Please tear these boxes apart and put them in your recycling container."

Of course that is advice that most of us are aware of, but it can easily be forgotten, or sometimes we can get lazy and forget about this most basic way to grab a criminal's attention.

The alert goes on to say that there is a great deal of credit card fraud detected in the Atlanta area, and there has been a number of mailbox break-ins. You are advised to, "please check your statements carefully and add the Credit Card alert to your card."

In closing, the Ansley Park Association reminds us that, "if you are going out of town, cancel your mail and newspapers."  If you are a member of the Security Patrol, please call 404-892-2491 or go to  www.ansleypark.org and let the patrol know when to watch your house.

"It is one of the perks of membership. During major holidays or the summer, our officers watch about 30 houses a shift!!"
