Off-Duty APD Officer Arrested for DUI
Lt. Maurice Dodd was off-duty on Monday, Dec. 30, when he was allegedly driving drunk in Buckhead and arrested near the intersection of Pharr and Piedmont roads.
A 12-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department was arrested this past week and charged with DUI, expired registration, open container violation, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
Lt. Maurice Dodd was off-duty on Monday, Dec. 30, when he was allegedly driving drunk in Buckhead and arrested near the intersection of Pharr and Piedmont roads.
Dodd is a supervisor for the department’s Zone 3, which covers southeast Atlanta, including Summerhill, Peoplestown, Thomasville Heights and Chosewood Park, among other communities.

Dodd, who could be dismissed by the department and will face a disciplinary hearing next week before APD Chief George Turner, is currently on administrative leave with pay.
