Police Make Arrest in Brawley Drive Shooting

Suspect turned himself in.

Atlanta police said Sunday they made an arrest in the Feb. 4 shooting death of Wilton Smith-Muirhead.

Darnell Hudson, 24, turned himself in Feb. 15 on the outstanding murder warrant issued for his arrest.

Following reports of shots fired, police were called to the 500 block of James P. Brawley Drive NW in the English Avenue area at 3:34 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Wilton Smith-Muirhead on the ground, bleeding profusely from his upper body.

Smith-Muirhead, 18, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Hudson is charged with murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of felony and possession of a firearm as ex-convict in the commission of a felony.

He remains in the Fulton County Jail.
