'Real Housewives' Personality Forced to Pay Up

The husband of star Phaedra Parks has also been sentenced to an eight year prison term.

The husband of a cast member of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' now knows how much money he must repay for his part in a complex fraud scheme.

Apollo Nida, who was sentenced to eight years in prison on July 8, has been ordered to pay $1.9 million in restitution to the victims of a check fraud and money laundering operation.

TMZ reports that Nida, who is married to 'Real Housewives' star Phaedra Parks, owes JP Morgan Chase over $800,000, owes the IRS nearly $130,000, and is indebted to the states of California, Connecticut, and Texas.

Nida was part of a massive check cashing fraud scheme that stole identities, filed false claims for benefits from government agencies, and filed false tax returns to obtain money which was then laundered through various financial institutions.

It is estimated that the 5-year-long scheme stole the identities of over 50 people and racked up $2.3 million for the participants.

Nida pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud in May. Co-conspirator Gayla St. Julien received a five-year sentence in April.
