Room Service Lounge the Site of Another Area Shooting

The restaurant/club, sandwiched between Buckhead and the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhoods in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood, has been a source of contention for area residents ever since it opened a few years ago.

Another shooting has taken place inside Room Service Lounge.

The restaurant/club, sandwiched between Buckhead and the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhoods in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood at 1937 Piedmont Circle, has been a source of contention for area residents ever since it opened a few years ago.

WSB-TV reported last month, "the Atlanta Police License and Review Board voted to suspend Room Service Lounge’s liquor license for 360 days and fine it more than $12,000 after finding five code violations." Local residents have since asked Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed to sign off on the recommendation.

Atlanta City Councilman Alex Wan told the news outlet, “It has been a problem for the community ever since it opened.”

The most recent incident occurred last weekend at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Saturday. Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones told Patch that responding officers arrived at the club to find a man who had been shot in the buttocks in the bathroom of the establishment.

Police say the victim, who was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, was uncooperative and only gave a description of the alleged suspects as “two black males.”

Last summer, a man was shot inside Room Service Lounge and responding officers found him “suffering from multiple gunshot wounds."

In 2011, a man was shot several times after an argument broke out in a VIP room at the club.

In her story last month, WSB’s Rachel Stockman “dug through 38 pages of police calls, provided by neighbors, where the lounge was mentioned and found reports of assaults, thefts and alcohol license violations.”
