Security Guard Shot in Parking Lot of Club Onyx on Cheshire Bridge

The Atlanta Police Department have been able to confirm a few details about an early Wednesday morning shooting in the parking lot of Club Onyx, along Cheshire Bridge Road.

According to Officer Kim Jones, "On October 2, 2013 at 03:07 am, Zone 2 units received a shots fired call 1888 Cheshire Bridge Road Upon arrival, the officers found a crime scene in the staff parking lot located on the front right side of the building."

Witnesses told police officers that the incident started when, "a female was being harassed by two black males in the parking lot."  The female stated that she did not know the males, and they followed her through the parking lot of the strip club.

According to the police report, "Onyx security then heard the altercation and they ran over to break up the altercation. Security officers then pushed one of the males down so another male reached into the vehicle and grabbed a gun. Once one of the males grabbed the gun he fired on security Mr. Brown and Mr. Green, striking Security officer Mr. Brown in the leg and neck."

Police say that the 2nd security guard then pulled his weapon to return fire at the suspects.  The suspects were still able to flee the scene in a white colored Mercedes SUV, "traveling south on Cheshire Bridge road."

The victim who was struck was transported to the hospital and listed in stable condition.
