Sketch of Piedmont Park suspect released

Man reportedly threatened to rape a woman during broad daylight last week.

Atlanta police released a sketch Wednesday afternoon of the suspect who reportedly attempted a sexual attack on a woman last week in Piedmont Park.

As reported at Midtown Patch, a woman was near the lake around 2 p.m. on Dec. 6 when a clean cut black male approached her and allegedly said, “I wanna rape you, you sl***t” with what she described as “a despicable voice.”

According to the APD spokesman John Chafee, the woman immediately ran away in the direction of a pair of Piedmont Park Conservancy workers. Those two men followed the suspect to near Grady High School, where they witnessed the man change shirts before losing sight of him.
