According to the Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 5 Criminal Investigation Unit, a homeless man was arrested Sunday stealing money out of parking lot boxes on West Peachtree Street.
According to investigators, the man, who is new to the Midtown community according to representatives from the Peachtree/Pine homeless shelter where he has been staying, was in possession of a stolen bike.
The bike, a Dynacraft Power climber with 2x dual suspension, is baby blue in color and almost brand new. A photo of the bike accompanies this article and if you know whom the bike belongs to, please contact the APD at JCantin@atlantaga.gov.
Hopefully this stolen bike can be returned to its rightful owner as we’re in the middle of National Bike Month. And Friday, May 18 is Bike to Work Day.
According to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, on Friday there will be bike trains to join all over Atlanta and energizer stations to refuel at in several popular bike neighborhoods. More info, including how to join a bike train or sign up to lead one can be found here.
And on Sunday, May 20, Atlanta Streets Alive will be blocking North Highland Avenue to cars for a two mile stretch and opening it up to human powered amusement for a few hours, plus, a Great Atlanta Bicycle Parade and P'cheen's 2nd Annual Bike Show & Competition.
