Surveillance Footage from a $300K Kay Jewelers Heist in Midtown

APD Investigators are asking for assistance in identifying the male seen in the video emptying the display cases at Kay Jewelers located at 1380 Atlantic Dr. in Midtown.

According to police, "employees advised that a male entered the location and asked where the engagement rings were.  The male then produced a handgun and ordered the employees onto the floor."

The suspect can be seen in the video calmly emptying the cases after placing a handgun in his waistband.  Kay Jewelers told officers that the value of the items stolen is in the range of $300,000.

"He bound their hands behind their backs and advised them that this would be over soon and told them not to try anything stupid," said Officer John Chafee.  The man then used a set of keys from one of the employees to remove jewelry from the cases.

Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect.
