Suspicious Package at Atlantic Station Determined 'Safe'

The 17th Street bridge is being reopened.

Atlanta police say a suspicious package found Friday afternoon at Atlantic Station has been determined to be "safe."

The BB&T bank building in Atlantic Station was evacuated Friday when a call came in on a suspicious package, the AJC reports. The 17th Street bridge was closed for some time as authorities responded to the report.

"The package has been determined to be safe," Carlos Campos, public information officer for the Atlanta Police Department, said just after 6 p.m. on Friday.  The "streets are being reopened."
