Tech Student Raped Behind Fraternity House

Incident happened Thursday evening.

Georgia Tech police are looking for a man they say raped a female student behind a fraternity house.

The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening behind the Sigma Nu fraternity house on Fowler Street, according to police.

The student told police she was raped by a male she didn't know. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is about 40 years old with a moustache. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black sweatpants and white shoes.

"The safety and security of Georgia Tech students, faculty and staff remains our top priority," Georgia Tech Spokesperson Matt Nagel said in a prepared statement. "On Thursday evening, more than 115 sworn public safety officers were on duty including members of the Georgia Tech Police Department, Atlanta Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, GBI and Fulton County Sheriff's Office along with 315 event security personnel.

"We remind our campus community to remain vigilant and to report any concerns to the Georgia Tech Police Department."
