Tech Student Robbed in Home Park

Incident happened early Monday morning.

Atlanta police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed and beat up a Georgia Tech student early Monday morning.

Around 2 a.m., the student was walking on Tumlin Street, between Calhoun and 10th streets, in the Home Park neighborhood, according to an online crime alert. An older model, gold-colored Toyota Corolla pulled up next to the student and two men exited the car.

The suspects "pointed a handgun at the student and told him to get on his knees," says the alert. "The males stole the student's cell phone and wallet then kicked his head."

The student received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The AJC reports that police tracked the stolen cell phone to a business in Morrow. Morrow police were notified, according to the newspaper.

The suspects are described as black men with short hair who are between 5-feet, 10-inches and 6-feet tall.
