Teen Jumper Dies in Apparent Suicide

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office has ruled the incident a suicide.

The 16-year-old boy who fell from the Centergy parking deck yesterday in Midtown has died. 

The incident has been ruled a suicide, said Mike Alsip, an investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office. The boy, who is from Chamblee, was pronounced dead Monday at 1:30 p.m., Alsip said. 

Around 12:50 p.m. Monday, the teenager was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital after witnesses say he fell from the parking deck at Spring and 5th streets, near the Georgia Tech .

"They worked on him for awhile, apparently," Alsip said. 

Alsip said the teenager died from "generalized block force trauma." The death was ruled a suicide, he said.

Officer Kim Maggart with the Atlanta Police Department yesterday said a notebook with suicide notes was found on the roof of the parking deck.
