Thieves hit Midtown CVS for smokes and weaves

Brick tossed through store window early Friday morning. In other public safety news, the APD will be conducting a career fair on Monday.

According to local news reports, the CVS at 842 Peachtree Street near 6th street was broken into and ransacked early Friday morning.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that thieves threw a brick through the front glass door and unlawfully entered the store shortly before 5 a.m.

The newspaper indicated that police and store workers said that hair weaves and cigarettes were taken by the perpetrators. Several metro beauty stores have been victim to hair extension thefts in recent months.

In the past two years, the department has hired almost 500 new officers in its quest to reach a sworn force of 2,000.

Interviews and testing will begin promptly at 8 a.m., at 226 Peachtree Street, SW, 2nd Floor. Please arrive dressed in business attire with a valid photo government-issued identification card.
