Two Men Arrested After Westside Bank Robbery

Citizens' 911 call helps lead to the capture of suspects after SunTrust bank robbery Wednesday morning

Two men are now in Atlanta Police Department custody after a bank robbery Wednesday morning in the Underwood Hills community near the cusp of West Midtown and South Buckhead.

According to the APD, at approximately 9:23 a.m., several citizens were at the SunTrust bank located at 1221 Chattahoochee Ave., attempting to go in and conduct their business with the bank. It was then that they noticed two people outside the bank with masks on.

The citizens called 911 to report the two men may be attempting to rob the bank and APD Zone 2 units were dispatched to the scene. The two masked men went into rob the bank, resulting in the teller triggering the silent alarm.

When the two men exited the bank, they were confronted by police officers, who gave chase and captured the two suspects. Arrrested and charged with bank robbery were Reginald Strozier, 42, and Terry Burston, 53.

No one was injured in the incident

“See something, say something, that's what the Atlanta Police Department wants from the citizens of Atlanta,” said APD Officer K. Y. Jones. “We are grateful that these citizens this morning saw something out of the ordinary and called 911. Thanks to their call, two robbery suspects have been removed from our city streets.”
