Two Local Businesses Vandalized Early Wednesday

Both Area 4 Salon and Rapid Sign Systems near Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive intersection were vandalized Wednesday morning.

Two businesses in the shopping center located at Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive had their front glass doors smashed in by vandals during the early morning hours on Wednesday.

Video taken by 11Alive news cameras shows how the doors were smashed open on both the Area 4 Salon located at 1536 Monroe Dr. and the Rapid Sign Systems business located at 1531 Piedmont Avenue.

The Atlanta Police Department was unable to confirm if any items were stolen from the business, but the openings were large enough for suspects to get inside of each of these locations, according to Officer Kim Jones.

Jones also informed Midtown Patch that at "3088 Piedmont Road a shattered glass door at Enterprise Rental Car was discovered. Nothing was taken, per key the holder."

At this point APD is calling these, "vandalism patterns," and has not said that all of the incidents are related.

Two other businesses in Decatur were hit in the same way overnight, according to 11Alive.  Just yesterday, the Little 5 Points boutique, Karma, had a brick thrown into its front window as well.  Authorities believe nothing was stolen in the case in Little 5 Points, as investigators try to continue to get a handle on the recent spike in vandalism.
