Police Release Photo of Midtown Armed Robbery Suspect

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying this suspected armed robber, who used the victim's bank card at an ATM.


Atlanta Police have released an ATM surveillance photo of an armed robbery suspect and are asking the public for help in identifying him.

According to a police report, the robbery took place around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12. A man was walking home from work on Yonah Drive when he was approached by a man who produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings.

Yonah Drive runs along Yonah Park, just off of 15th street in the Ansley Park neighborhood.

The suspect took the victim's wallet and also demanded the pin to the victim's credit card, according to the police report. The victim provided the code and also gave up his iPhone 5, and the suspect fled south on Yonah towards Peachtree Circle.

Police say that soon after, the suspect used an ATM to take money from the victim’s bank account.

Atlanta police ask that people who have tips contact the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). People who offer tips do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000.
