When she refused to give it to him and told him to get out of the car, he began to fight her for the phone. A second young male, this one with short dreads, then entered the driver's side and began fighting with her, as well. When she would not give them the phone, the first male poked something into her ribs and threatened to shoot her, however she did not see a gun.

While they were fighting, one suspect bit her on the left arm leaving a distinct mark. The males took her cell phone, driver's license, and bank card before exiting the car. At that point, the husband came out of the store and saw what was happening.

He ran to the car and struck the first male in the head. The two suspects then fled to a white 2013 Chevy [Cruze] parked about 40 feet away. The man continued to fight with one of the suspects, trying to grab him. At this point one of the males pulled out a black 9mm handgun and fired a shot into the ground near the man’s feet causing a small laceration from flying concrete.

As the suspects fled the scene, the man pulled a temporary dealers tag off the back of the carr, which a later check did not return to the Cruiser. The man observed two more young males in the car as it drove off.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., APD units patrolling for the suspects located a white Chevy behind 1300 Hollywood Road. It came back as stolen.

According to police, four black males matching the victim's descriptions were located and detained in the area. However, upon subsequent examination, the victims stated that none of the men were the suspects.

A Grady Hospital mobile unit examined both victims, but they declined to be transported.

The incident was captured on store cameras at the liquor store.
