Come Out! If you're gay ... and to vote

Election Day is two weeks from today and early voting, which began on Monday, Oct. 15, continues through Nov. 2.

As of Monday across Fulton County, more than 45,000 people had cast ballots since early voting began. The heaviest turnout has been in southwest Atlanta, where nearly 8,800 people have voted at the Adamsville Recreation Center, and in College Park, where more than 11,000 people have voted so far.

Voters can cast their ballots Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Saturday voting will be offered at the Buckhead Library on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember to bring your picture ID so you can vote.

Here are the early voting locations for Fulton residents:

• Buckhead Library (269 Buckhead Ave., Atlanta)
• Fulton County Government Center (130 Peachtree St. SW, Suite 2186, Atlanta)
• North Fulton Service Center (7741 Roswell Rd., Suite 232, Sandy Springs)
• Ocee Library (5090 Abbotts Bridge Rd., Johns Creek)
• Adamsville Recreational Center (3201 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW, Atlanta)
• South Fulton Service Center (5600 Stonewall Tell Rd., Room 108, College Park)

The Midtown-based lesbian singing duo Bria and Chrissy uploaded their YouTube song “Get Out and Vote!” about six weeks ago. Since then, their self-described “objective” tune as received more than 80,000 views as they advocate for everyone to take advantage of their freedom to vote.

The duo also on Monday posted their latest video shot during the recently completed Atlanta Pride Festival. In it, they sing and interview people – both gay and straight - to hear “their words of inspiration for LGBT youth who are afraid to come out.”

One person commented Monday:

"I seriously teared up at this. In a world with so much hate, it is amazing to see an event that is just so happy and full of love!!! I'm a straight woman who is happily married, and I think that everyone should be allowed to marry the love of their life, start a family, and just be happy and not have to deal with all the negativity that surrounds us!"
