Updates on the Dunwoody Village Main Street project are on the agenda of tonight's city council meeting, set to begin at 7 pm at city hall.

According to the city council agenda, final design and construction plans have now been completed for the parkway and construction easement acquisition is underway. The final design plans are being submitted to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) this week for final approval.

The goal is to have temporary construction easements acquired by the end of February 2013. The project can then move into the construction bidding and contract phase.

The goal is to be under construction by August 2013.

Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan is also set to discuss awarding Iron Sky Inc. a contract to provide a public safety video surveillance system.

Other items on the council's Monday night agenda include discussions of:

  • several local intersection improvement projects;
  • regulations governing false alarms inside the city limits;
  • establishing a parks and recreation board; and
  • revising the city government's ethics ordinance.
