Emergency Preparedness Fair

Fulton County Fire Rescue Department invites residents to attend the 2011 Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Publix Shopping Center at 5370 Campbellton Fairburn Road, Fairburn, GA 30213 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will provide community members an opportunity to learn steps they can take to prepare and protect their families in small and large-scale emergency situations. Fulton County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and emergency vehicles, along with Fulton County’s Fire Safety House, will be on display.

The event is funded by a grant through the CERT program, which is a part of the Department of Homeland Security.  The program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, including fire safety and disaster medical operations. The CERT program was implemented nationally as a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.
