GOP Primary: Who's Donating in Midtown?

Mitt Romney is beating Newt Gingrich in fundraising in metro Atlanta.

Super Tuesday is a day away, but so far Mitt Romney is beating former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich in the money race in metro Atlanta.

Romney has raised $746,951 from Atlanta area donors while Gingrich has raised $299,685, according to campaign finance reports.

We took the latest fundraising reports from the Federal Election Commission and mapped them for the Atlanta area.

A quick look at the mapped data shows that donations from the Midtown area are stronger for Romney than for Gingrich.

The latest analysis by the New York Time's Five Thirty Eight blog and Real Clear Politics both show Gingrich is very likely to win Georgia on Tuesday, but probably not with enough votes to take all of the state's delegates.

The polls in Fulton County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. In addition to the presidential primary, City of Atlanta voters will decide on extending the 1-cent Municipal Option Sales Tax for four years.
