Dual Branded Hotel Opens in Midtown

Combined, the two hotels have 228 units and meeting and conference facilities accommodating up to 200 persons, a 110-seat full service restaurant and lounge, an outdoor elevated pool and spa, as well as an expanded fitness center and valet parking.

Our Midtown Picture of the day celebrates this week's opening of Midtown's newest hotel, the dual branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton at 97 10th Street.

The hotel is located at the northeast corner of 10th and Williams streets. The 12-story hotel, which boasts 136 Hilton Garden Inn rooms and suites and 92 Homewood studio and one bedroom suites, is owned and managed by Alpharetta-based North Point Hospitality Group, Inc.

"We are excited to once again partner with Hilton Worldwide on the first dual branded hotel in Georgia" S. Jay Patel, president and CEO of North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., said in a release. "We look forward to being part of the dynamic Atlanta Midtown market with the opening of these two industry leading brands"

The hotel splits its lobby between the brands offering two separate check-in desks and lodging/dining areas - each catering to the needs of their respective customers. Communal areas include meeting rooms, business center, pool, and fitness center.

Hilton Garden Inn amenities include a state-of-the-art business center, 24/7 business center, and free WiFi in all rooms. Homewood Suites by Hilton provides travelers amenities including complimentary internet, recreational options such as a fitness center, pool, and sports courts. 

The dual branded hotel features five meeting rooms offering more than 3,500 square feet of flexible space and an on-site guest laundry facility.

Another ugly parking lot bites the dust! Glad they were able to incorporate the parking deck into the hotel. Wish all new buildings in Midtown would do the same. I'm looking at you Skyhouse.

Cheap lodging for more hillbillies from Kennesaw, for their big vacations into the city...The only redeeming quality this building has is that it could be easily converted into apartments if Atlanta ever actually turns itself into a reputable city.

Good compromise in a down economy...and a lower end location overlooking the noisy connector. Building really is not that bad, and does provide a lot of jobs, many for first time workers. Good location for Georgia Tech visitors also.

I don't get what you think is so bad about this hotel. I see a lot of good qualities about it. * Removed another parking lot * Not taking up prime location * Incorporates the parking deck into the hotel * Looks nice and is affordable when most hotels in Midtown are not affordable. * Will get a lot of Georgia Tech business, like families coming to visit their kids.

I was thinking the same thing... (minus the tone, lol). It did seem rather odd to put such a basic hotel in such a prominent spot. I'm not saying it had to be "Waldorf Astoria" or "Conrad" versions of the hotel brand, but it could have at least been a really nice "Hilton" instead of a Garden Inn.... Hmm, but I guess something is better than nothing I suppose... no, that's not true. But it is what it is....

It will be convenient for Georgia Tech visitors, but I do wish they would have had a more luxurious brand there as it would be more fitting to the likes of such a prominent well to do school. Even a boutique hotel of sorts would have been more classy... but it is what it is. lol.
