THE OPTIMIST HOSTS HEAVY SEAS BEER DINNER ON JUNE 11

Atlantans are invited to explore the Uncharted Waters of Heavy Seas Beer at The Optimist, as the West Midtown restaurant hosts a five-course beer dinner on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Atlantans are invited to explore the Uncharted Waters of Heavy Seas Beer at The Optimist, as the West Midtown restaurant hosts a five-course beer dinner on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. The evening begins with a cocktail hour in the Oyster Bar and moves into the dining room, where Executive Chef Adam Evans and a representative of Heavy Seas will explain each particular dish and beer pairing.

Guests can enjoy the following beers: 

  • ·         Riptide White IPA – Malt body similar to a Belgian style Wit with torrified wheat, hopped like an IPA, but with a unique blend of Czech Saaz, French Strisselspalt, Calypso, Centennial and Cascade hops for a citrus nose and flavor with floral accents.
  • ·         Small Craft Warning Über Pils – Hop-forward and malt-forward, the robust pilsner is crisp, well-carbonated and slightly sweet.
  • ·         Gold Ale – Deep gold in color, with a slightly floral and herbal scent, this beer is Cascade and Centennial hops.
  • ·         Loose Cannon American IPA – Triple-hopped with a strong malt backbone, Heavy Seas’ flagship beer creates a fragrant IPA with notes of grapefruit, herbs and pine.
  • ·         Holy Sheet Über Abbey Ale – Rich, complex and unique, the mahogany ale is brewed with Belgian Abbey yeast, candi sucre and crystal malts.

Seating for this event is limited to 30 guests and reservations are required. The cost is $50 per person and includes a special Heavy Seas keepsake glass. Tax and gratuity are not included. For more information or to reserve a spot, call 404-477-6260.
