SOUTHERN SOUL BARBEQUE HOSTS BIRD & BEER DINNER BENEFITING HOSPICE OF THE GOLDEN ISLES

This October the St. Simons Food & Spirits Festival at Gascoigne Bluff kicks off with the Southern Soul Barbeque Alfresco Dinner benefiting Hospice of the Golden Isles. On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Harrison Sapp and Griffin Bufkin of Southern Soul Barbeque host a 4 course dinner with craft beer pairings from Athens, Ga. brewery, Wild Heaven Craft Beers. Dishes will be created with ingredients from Manchester Farms, Maple Leaf Farms and Grass Roots Farms. The menu includes Country Fried Quail: Chorizo, Black-Eyed Pea Fritters, Maple & White Balsamic Vinaigrette, Beet Green Salad, Smoked Chicken Thigh: Collard Green Stuffed Roulde, Butternut Squash Puree, Chicken Skin Crackers, Cranberry Gastrique, Crisped Duck Breast: Boiled Peanut & Local Wild Rice Hoppin’ John, Smoked Salsify, Local Baby Carrots, Ruby Port BBQ Paint, Duck Fat Pecan Tarts: Foie Gras Crème Anglaise and Micro Mint.
